My artisan vegan soap is handmade in Fairfax, CA using the cold process method and is made in small batches of 11 bars. Each 4.5 oz bar is cut and trimmed by hand and allowed to cure for at least four weeks. Truly one of a kind!
My organic lotion bars are made right in my kitchen with simple (and yummy!) organic ingredients. The best part is the beeswax and honey come from my cousin's bee farm in the South Bay!
Sustainable Soapworks is a woman-owned business with an eco-conscious artisan. My soap does not contain parabens, phthalates, sulfates, animal products, nor most allergens. I strive to reduce my carbon footprint with each batch.
I am a member of HS&CG, a non-profit 501(c)(6) trade association, which is the world’s largest community of handcrafted soap, cosmetic, and candlemakers.
Each batch of soap is a unique blend of oils, butters, scents, and colorants. I use different combinations of the following ingredients:
Aqua (distilled water), Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, RSPO E. guineensis (palm) oil, Brassica campestris seed oil, Sodium hydroxide (lye), Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, titanium dioxide/mica (colorants), essential oils, fragrance oils, and natural additives (e.g., activated charcoal, coffee, dried fruit and flowers, grains, spices, tussah silk)
Each batch of lotion bars is a simple blend of a hard butter, beeswax, soft oil, scent, and natural additives:
Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, Cera alba (beeswax), Mangifera indica (mango) butter, Butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, Olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, essential oils, and natural additives (e.g., honey, spices, tea)
I have upgraded the soap packaging to sustainable seeded paper. This hand crafted lotka paper is made from the regenerating Daphne bush in the highlands of Nepal by rural craftspeople in an environmentally friendly process. It contains 10 annual and perennial species that thrive in partial shade, only need 4 hours of direct sunlight a day, and grow to about 3' tall: Snapdragon, Petunia, Beardtongue, Daisey, Thyme, Poppy, Foxglove, Catchfly, Maiden Pinks, and Chamomile.
This seeded lotka paper can be recycled, composted, or planted. If you plant this paper in a pot or in the ground, cover it with 1/8" of soil and keep it moist for 4-6 weeks for proper seed germination.
The lotion bars come in a reusable, screw top rose gold tin.
